"Sleeping Baby Killer"

 The mother of the baby murdered in his stroller testified in a Georgia courtroom today. Sherry West cried has she recounted how a teenager attempted to rob her. When she told him she didn’t have any money, he threatened to shoot her sleeping baby.


“I said ‘please don’t shoot my baby,’” West testified. "He shot a warning shot to the ground. I asked him 'why are you doing this, please, don't do this.'"

The teen shot West and then her baby, killing the infant in his stroller. Prosecutors also showed video of the mother recreating the scene for police hours after the murder.

The defense team cross-examined West’s credibility by bringing up her history of mental illness which includes bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder.

The defense even went as far as to suggest that she or the child’s father, Louis Santiago, may have had some involvement in the death. They have previously questioned whether West had a financial interest in the death of her baby because she had taken out a $5,000 insurance policy in his life.

Fox News’ John Roberts reported that moments ago in the courtroom the defense suggested that West was such a bad mother, that the murder of her child may have been “merciful.”
